Canadian harpist Laura Stephenson has been resident
in Sweden since she was appointed principle harpist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Stockholm.
Highly interested in contemporary music and the challenges it presents, Laura is a member of KammarensembleN, Swedens most well-known
modern music ensemble.
Laura has performed extensively in the chamber
music realm both in Stockholm and around the
country. She has appeared in such festivals as
Gotlands Musik Festival, Lapplands Festspel, Turku International Music Festival and Saxå Kammarmusik Festival.
Before moving to Sweden, Laura Stephenson was principle harpist in the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and a member of the Canadian Chamber Ensemble. Her primary teacher has been Judy Loman, one of Americas most reknowned harpists. Laura teaches herself at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm.
