Niklas Brommare from Härnösand, Sweden was the first percussionist to be awarded a soloist diploma
from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm where
he studied for professor Anders Loguin. He has also studied independently with percussion soloist Robyn Schullkowsky in Munich.
He has premiered many works for solo percussion, some of which were written especially for him in
close collaboration with the composers. For his solo debut with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra
he performed, Percussion Concerto dedicated to him
by composer Sven-David Sandström. In 2000, he performed Metamorphose for solo percussion by Pär Lingren as part of the millennium celebration concert
at Berwaldhallen Stockholm broadcast live on Swedish television.
He has performed as a soloist with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, The Swedish Radio Choir and
as a chamber musician with Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Klangforum Wien. He plays regularly
with Ensemble Modern, Frankfurt and is a member
of KammarensembleN, Stockholm. He has played under the direction of conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Oliver Knussen, Peter Eötvös and Esa-Pekka Salonen.
He regularly appears at prestigious festivals such as
the Salzburg Festival, Wien; Lincoln Center Festival, New York; Modern Festival, Adelaide; Festival, Båstad; Chambermusicfestival, Klangspuren Schwatz Tirol; Hamburger Musikfest; and the Composers Festival
at Stockholm Concert House.
